In a bustling town, four little girls confront and, with the help of a wise mentor, overcome a series of business challenges. That’s the setup for the upcoming TV series Ms. April’s Crown & Bookstore, which aims to empower kids through entrepreneurship!

In the series, Ms. April owns the Crown and AfroMation Shop and mentors the girls as they get “scatter-brained” at fashion shows, struggle to delegate tasks at work, and more. Each episode will focus on a different hurdle that one of the young girls faces and overcomes with Ms. April’s guidance.

The series comes courtesy of the Afro Unicorn brand, known for its products that showcase diverse unicorns across plush, apparel, kids books, and more.

The BFFoundation, a year-long initiative that promotes the voices of underrepresented and diverse storytellers, as well as Geena Davis’ institute on gender in media, will bring a free, 15-minute performance of Ms. April’s Crown & Bookstore to the Geena Davis Outdoor Theater in Bentonville, Arkansas on June 15. For more information on the in-person performance and the empowering Afro Unicorn series, visit the BFFoundation website.
