American Girl is launching a Conversations for Change digital platform as part of the brand’s 35th-anniversary celebration to highlight female trailblazers with empowering stories.
The stories are meant to inspire empathy, equality, and positive change in the world, while remaining inclusive for all. The platform will kick off with an episode called “4 Generations of Black Voices” to make sure that Black stories are seen, heard, and valued. The episode will feature youth activist and author Marley Dias; writer and American Girl author Denise Lewis Patrick; and Paris Williams of the Paris Cares Foundation, along with her mom and educator Alicia Marshall.
Throughout the year, the Conversations for Change series will put the spotlight on more videos, letters, and advice from diverse young leaders who will cover topics such as climate change and how it impacts marginalized communities, how to combine your passion with your activism, how to make a difference in your communities, and how to achieve your goals. This summer, the series will feature several Team USA athletes who will share their personal stories about overcoming challenges, doubts, and setbacks.
