spinmaster.chillfactoricecreammakerI can’t even begin to calculate the amount of collective minutes I spent of my childhood (and let’s be real, my teens and early twenties) chasing down the ice cream truck. To this day, the Mister Softee ice cream jingle sends me into an immediate state of panic, and I have an uncontrollable urge to rifle through my purse to find a few bucks. Luckily, this summer, Spin Master provides kids (and, well, adults like me) with another, much less stressful option—the Chill Factor Ice Cream Maker.

The Chill Factor Ice Cream Maker uses Rapid Freeze Technology to make soft serve ice cream in one minute. The unique lid also acts as a pre-mixing chamber for ingredients. The kit includes the ice cream maker cone and lid, a straw spoon, a recipe guide, and an instruction sheet. The recipe guide included features recipes for chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, Choc-Coconut, and Cookies ‘n Cream ice creams, as well as lemon and raspberry sorbets. Everything’s included in the kit—you just need to provide the cream, sugar, and flavors!

With The Chill Factor Ice Cream Maker, kids ages 5 and up (and maybe with the help of mom or dad) can make soft serve ice cream in just four easy steps. Place the Ice cream maker into the freezer until it is frozen. Then measure and mix the ingredients in that handy-dandy lid and pour them into the ice cream maker. Simply screw on the lid and shake for a few seconds to mix up the ingredients. Them remove the topping lid and squeeze until, in just minutes, you have your own ice cream treat

The ice cream maker is super cute, shaped like an ice cream cone with either a chocolate or pink top. Although the tops are very secure so the lid stays on while shaking, they are easy enough to twist off for little ones to be able to—as they usually demand—“do it myself!” Although it is not dishwasher-safe, The Chill Factory Ice Cream Maker easily comes apart for you (or your kids) to hand wash. Also from the Chill Factor line is a Chill Factory Slushy Maker, featuring the same basic concept as the ice cream maker to produce slushy fruit juices, sodas, or even cold coffee beverages. Since it’s so quick and simple, it’s the perfect break from the sun on a hot summer day.
