If you have a little one at home, there’s a good chance you know all about Cocomelon. And if you’ve never heard of it before, it’s time to get familiar because it’s one of the hottest preschool series around.
Cocomelon is an animated YouTube channel and Netflix series that reimagines popular nursery rhymes with guided lyrics to teach kids about letters, numbers, animal sounds, colors, and practical life lessons. Jazwares is launching a Cocomelon toy line, starting with the Cocomelon Musical Yellow School Bus arriving in stores later this month.
Even if kids won’t be getting on any packed school buses anytime soon, they can still get in the back-to-school frame of mind with this singing vehicle, suitable for kids ages 2 and up. The bus can hold up to six figures, but only includes one 3-inch JJ figure — perfect to practice social distancing with because he’ll have the whole bus to himself! When kids press the grill on the front of the bus, it plays the song “Wheels on the Bus,” along with honking noises, JJ giggles, and phrases.
While seeing JJ and the Cocomelon branding will be enough to pique your preschooler’s interest, they’ll also have blast singing a familiar nursery rhyme that they’ll recognize from the series. Parents who are concerned about too much screen time can use the toy to lure kids away from their technology and devices to encourage imaginative play IRL.
Families can later add even more Cocomelon toys to their kids’ collections with an entire line from Jazwares coming this fall, just in time for the holiday season.
