All aboard! Kids can punch their ticket to ride the rails from the safety of their kitchen table in the new board game, Crazy Trains: The Game of Loco-Motion, recommended for kids ages 7 and up!

In about 20 minutes, 2-4 players can take a circuitous route with the not-so-helpful aid of Curly the Conductor to their final destination, New York City. Kids must engineer a way to stay on track, controlling the speed and direction of their four-car train while avoiding “loco” obstacles.

Along the way, kids are introduced to train-related vocabulary words ranging from “railroad crossing” and “collisions” to “train depot” and “arrival track.” Players will start at the train depot and make their way to the Big Apple along the main railroad line. The first player to reach New York City is declared the winner and the grateful passengers get to disembark after another day of crazy train rides. No two games are ever the same.

Crazy Trains: The Game of Loco-Motion! was created by Frank Horn, an assistant director of television commercials in Miami, Florida. Horn grew up playing board games with his sister Julie and mom Maria. A few years ago, the family met and decided to create their own race-and-chase board game. After a lot of trial and error, Crazy Trains was born and self-published.

Horn also wrote lyrics to the game’s jingle and enticed The Yale Brothers to add instrumentals and record it. You can hear the full result at crazytrainsgame.com.

Crazy Trains is available at neighborhood specialty shops such as Train Town Toy & Hobby in Summerville, South Carolina; Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie, Washington; and the Georgia State Railroad Museum in Savannah, Georgia. Families can also easily order one online at crazytrainsgame.com for $24.95.
