Just because your family might be housebound for the foreseeable future doesn’t mean you can’t have plenty of fun!
DC, the super-powered masterminds behind some of the most iconic comics, launched a new DC Kids Camp program today with a full slate of exciting, at-home activities for families. The new program is curated by DC’s own middle-grade authors and artists, including Shannon Hale, Gene Luen Yang, Meg Cabot, Ridley Pearson, and Kirk Scroggs.
Parents can access the database of downloadable, superhero-themed activity kits, middle-grade graphic novel previews, and interactive author and artist videos from DC Kids’ social media profiles or through the DC Family newsletter each Monday and Friday.
Through the new program, kids can learn to draw their favorite DC superheroes and even discover new skills to make their own comics with easy, how-to, draw-along videos with artists, such as Agnes Garbowska (DC Super Hero Girls). More videos include tutorials for superhero-themed crafts, including a Green Lantern ring and Superman origami. Additional activity sheets, coloring pages, and blank comic book pages will also be available for parents to download.
DC Kids will share its exclusive craft projects on Twitter and Instagram daily at 10 a.m. PST, when DC authors and artists will demonstrate how it’s done in easy-to-follow videos.
Keep your eyes peeled here later today for today’s craft: A DIY Green Lantern Ring with Minh Lê.
