Expert Review: Droyd Fury Electric Youth ATV

Following the success of its e-bikes and the Romper trike, Droyd is hitting the trails with the Fury, an electric all-terrain vehicle (ATV) for kids ages 6 and up. This two-speed ATV boasts throttle-controlled acceleration, dual hand brakes, and knobby, pneumatic, tubeless tires. The Droyd Fury comes in three, stylish colorways: Speed Red, Power Blue, and Force Green.

The Droyd Fury is both sleek and rugged with a dual suspension system that helps riders tackle varied terrain while remaining comfortable. The 36-volt lithium-ion battery — which sits nicely below the rider — powers the 500-watt, brushless DC motor for a confident ride while disc brakes bring the ATV to a swift and safe stop. Kids will love ripping up the trails, cruising the neighborhood, or testing the limits of their own backyard (cue certain dads like me lamenting their lawns). This ride also handles kids up to 150 pounds, so for younger riders, there’s room to grow.

This 90-pound ATV arrives nearly fully assembled. An adult should complete the assembly and double-check all bolts and connections to ensure that they’re tight and ready to roll. The Fury should be fully charged prior to and after each. It’s worth noting that it’s a good practice to charge batteries for any electric vehicle only while adults are present. Parents can use the included Speed Control Key to switch between 10 mph (low) and 15 mph (high) speeds.

Big kids and those with an adventurous spirit who are too big for a traditional “toy” ride-on and not quite ready for a full-size, full-powered ATV.
