Time to break out your French skills: The new Fancy Nancy toys from Jakks Pacific will definitely have kids saying, “That’s fantastique!”
If you’re new to all things Fancy Nancy, the line of toys is based on the new Disney Junior animated series of the same name. The show is inspired by the picture books from Jane O’Connor, which follows Nancy, a little girl with a larger-than-life personality who j’adores all things fabulous. The new line of interactive dolls and stylish accessories and role-play items are playful, super cute, and just as marvelous as Nancy herself.
Perhaps my favorite of the line (shh, don’t tell the others) is the My Friend Fancy Nancy doll. This 18-inch doll is the perfect companion for any tea parties, exploring, play dates, or any other adventures. The doll is dressed in her signature outfit—bright, colorful rainbow leggings, a blue tiara, and her fuchsia and yellow chic party dress—which are all removable for fashion play.
You already know I was raving to everyone who walked by my desk (and then immediately regretted coming in my vicinity) because I was showing off all the points of articulation on this doll! Get this: My Friend Fancy Nancy has fully poseable arms and legs with 12 points of articulation at the neck, shoulders, waist, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. This makes it so easy for kids to pose the doll. I wouldn’t be surprised if this toy became the one that kids will want to take everywhere with them!
For a more interactive doll experience, the Shall We Be Fancy Talking Fancy Nancy Doll has a butterfly necklace that kids can press to near Nancy say one of 38 phrases. She also sings songs from the TV series, including the seriously catchy “Add a Little Fancy.” Kids can wear the accompanying light-up butterfly bracelet (excuse me, papillon in French), which will light up in six colors in tandem with her yellow bodice when she talks and sings. Like the My Friend Fancy Nancy Doll, the doll is dressed in her signature outfit, including a removable fabric skirt, striped leggings, and tiara. The set also comes with lots of cute accessories, such as a pair of sunglasses and a trendy boa. 🎵 If things are looking boring and feeling oh, so, bleak, just add a little fancy, and you’ll make it fantastique! 🎵
Grab your ballet slippers and get ready to dance with Fancy Nancy. The Fancy Nancy Ballerina twirls just like a real ballerina when kids press the buttons on the dolls’ side. Her arms will rise in the air as her legs move to form the perfect Grand Jeté with pointed toes. After completing her super fancy move, Nancy will then bend at the waist to take a bow. This doll features seven points of articulation at the neck, shoulders, hips, and ankles, and comes with a wand and removable tiara, tutu, and leg warmers. Can someone point me in the direction of the hairspray that Nancy uses? Her cute curls stay in place even as she’s performing as a prima ballerina. #goals
Kids can also collect dolls in different fashions with the Make Nancy Fancy Assortment. Or, kids can trade outfits with their friends if they want to switch it up! There are four classy outfits for kids to choose from, including classique, winter wonderland, Parisian, and tea time. Each of these smaller dolls have three points of articulation on their necks, shoulders, and hips. To add to the fun, each doll comes with its own Secret Bag of Fancy (I’m listening!), which comes with additional accessory pieces such for kids to decorate their own worlds to be fancy as well.
I’ll say it: I’ll always be a sucker for a feather boa. Now kids can get in on the Fancy Nancy action themselves, just like in the TV show, with new role play items. Kids can dress up in the signature outfit, add flare with the special butterfly-shaped boa assortment, and wear adorable butterfly-themed shoes with this collection. They can also host their own tea party with a whimsical set that has special Fancy Nancy touches, such as animated pictures and French-style accents. There’s always time to be fancy.
The old Maddie can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Because’s she’s too busy being more fabulous than you! The Fancy French Phone is another cute role-play item in the line, which features lights and telephone sounds for realistic play. I love the retro details on the phone, such as the rotary dial, which might have kids scratching their heads as to how the heck they’re supposed to dial the phone. Adding some more personalization, kids can hear 12 phrases from Nancy when they push the center button!
I am such a fan of all Jakks Pacific jewelry boxes, and this Ooh La La Music Box adds in that fantastique flair with a touch of Paris. The box plays the theme song “Add a Little Fancy,” as Nancy scooters around the Eiffel Tower. Of course, no trip to Paris would be complete without Nancy bringing her best companion along, her pupper Frenchy! The music box also features a storage drawer, which gives kids a head start on their jewelry collections with the included butterfly ring.
All of these Fancy Nancy toys are made for kids ages 3 and up, and these adorable items will definitely help kids play out the magnifique adventures of Nancy in real life!
