Folkmanis.owletAs a mom of a 5 year old and a 1 year old, I know how tough it can be to get kids away from the screens and excited about toys that don’t have an electronic, tech component. But I also know that all it takes is a great product and a little imagination for kids to enter a whole new world of open-ended play.

Folkmanis knows all about getting kids to use their imaginations with its gorgeous plush and puppets that kids (and adults) naturally gravitate toward. They are so fun and realistic-looking that you instinctually want to pick up them up, pop them on your hand, and start playing.

One of my daughter’s favorites is the Owlet in Tree Stump puppet. She loves that you really don’t need a stage or a curtain to put on a puppet show with this little guy, because he comes with a tree stump to hide in.

Folkmanis.AiredaleTerrierFolkmanis’ Airedale Terrier puppet is a larger puppet, and features the signature markings of the breed: wiry looking, yet soft with a dark brown back and tan head, ears, and legs. He’s even got these soulful eyes that are so realistic. Kids can cradle this cuddly guy in their arms to work his mouth while the other hand wags his tail.

Folkmanis.OstrichFolkmanis’ Ostrich puppet is amazing. Would it ever occur to you that your kids might enjoy playing with an ostrich? Probably not, but this one is impossible to put down. It has super soft plush with long eyelashes that give it a lot of personality. This is another two-handed puppet: one hand goes up into the beak, while the other can flap the wings.

Folkmanis.GruntingPigLastly, the Grunting Pig puppet is just too cute and funny. It makes me laugh every time I play with it. Its soft, pale pink plush with grey patches and a curly tail come to life with a workable snout, mouth, and front trotters. This adorable little piggy grunts when you squeeze his pot belly, making for a very fun puppet show.
