StarWarsRebels.InquisitorLightsaberDisney’s new Star Wars Rebels animated series is bringing all sorts of cool characters and concepts with it. One intriguing member of the former group is the Inquisitor, a tattooed, pale-skinned villain who reports to no less than Darth Vader himself, and who roams the galaxy in search of the last Jedi. With the Star Wars Rebels Inquisitor Lightsaber from Hasbro, kids can role play as this formidable bad guy and wield his weapon of choice: a four-piece lightsaber that includes a pair of single “blades,” each of which extends from about a foot in length to a foot-and-a-half. There’s also a middle piece that both lightsabers can connect to, as well as a circular part that attaches for ornamentation or detaches for tossing through the air. Depending on their mood, kids can either have a toy lightsaber in each hand, or put all the pieces together for a two-sided weapon sure to intimidate Jedi everywhere. With regards to the blades, a flick of the user’s wrist or arm makes them extend, and with some practice, one can even learn to make both blades in the double-sided lightsaber mode pop out at once.

The Star Wars Rebels Inquisitor Lightsaber is designed for kids ages 4 and up, though the youngest Sith Lord trainees might find it a bit hefty. It’s also fairly durable, with successive blade-on-blade strikes over the course of several minutes resulting in few noticeable scratches. Overall, this is a fun, well-crafted toy for playing pretend, though a word of warning: Parents may want to make sure they have plenty of space in their homes before unleashing their kids’ inner Sith. But hey, that kind of goes without saying, doesn’t it?
