K’NEX’s newest roller coaster takes you on the thrill ride of your life.
The new addition to the K’NEX Thrill Rides line, the Bionic Blast Roller Coaster Building Set, gives kids the chance to virtually ride the roller coaster that they build. This coaster, from K’NEX, a division of Basic Fun!, adds fun tech enhancements to the company’s classic roller coaster building experience.
First things first: Kids can build up the coaster with the more than 800 K’NEX parts and pieces. The set is designed for kids ages 9 and up, because the build can be a bit challenging. As a standalone building set, this coaster packs in tons of playtime, preventing kids from getting bored. Since there are so many pieces, kids on the younger end of the scale might need some adult help—which is perfect, because K’NEX sets are a great family bonding activity.
The set features made-in-the-U.S. rods and connectors that are staples to all K’NEX sets. They’re the classic K’NEX pieces you know and love from your own childhood, and snap together easily. The set also includes roller coaster track to connect to your build-up, a coaster car, and a chain lift—talk about a real life lesson in engineering. This set features the first-ever Ferris wheel coaster car lift in the K’NEX coaster line, which is pretty cool to watch after you’re done building.
The instructions to build the coaster are easy to follow, with each step showing you how many of the 800 pieces you’ll need, so you can pull them aside each time.
After you’re done building, kids will experience more hours of playtime with included cardboard VR viewer. Kids can download and activate the K’NEX Ride It! app and use their smart device and the viewer to ride the coaster in the virtual world. The graphics will make kids feel like they’re actually riding on the Bionic Blast.
