LEGO cars are always fun to build, race, and cruise around in, now, kids can take them to the virtual world.

LEGO 2K Drive is an open-world video game designed for kids ages 10 and up. Players get to speed through LEGO City, switch vehicles, explore, and race their friends. When kids aren’t exploring the expansive open world, they can play in Story Mode, in which they can race in tournaments and play mini games!

Over the next few weeks, LEGO is hosting events to celebrate the launch of LEGO 2K Drive with players. Starting tomorrow, May 19, the LEGO Store on 5th Avenue in New York City will host a LEGO 2K Drive launch event featuring gaming stations to test out the game, photo opportunities, and a communal LEGO mural for visitors to add onto. The launch event will run until May 29.

On May 27, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., PrestonYT, a YouTube gaming influencer with more than 14 million subscribers, will host the PrestonPlayz event. Guests can take part in a meet-and-greet, LEGO giveaways, and the chance for kids to challenge Preston to a race in LEGO 2K Drive.

From May 19-23, special LEGO 2K Drive-themed cars and trucks will drive around the city giving out mini LEGO Mclaren sets. The cars will ruise around Manhattan for eight hours a day, so kids will have plenty of time to find them! Finally, from May 22-24, a LEGO City bus will drive around the city to visit iconic New York City landmarks, including Rockefeller Center, with kids. The LEGO City bus will have exciting activities, an interactive photo-op, and gaming stations for kids to play with!

LEGO 2K Drive is currently available on Nintendo Switch, Playstation, Xbox, and PC for $69.99 at lego.2k.com. Kids will want to speed to the LEGO store in New York City for the launch event and other fun moments to experience before playing LEGO 2K Drive!
