LEGO is making sure there are plenty of sets for kids to enjoy for the Lunar New Year! | Source: LEGO

This Jan. 22 marks the turning of the new lunar calendar year. To ring in the year of the rabbit, LEGO has released a whole collection of sets themed around the holiday.

The Lunar New Year Display is a set that leaves little builders with a cool room decoration once they’re done putting it together. The set is recommended for kids ages 8 and up and comes with two models, one with the message “Zhao Cai Jin Bao” to bring fortune into the home and another with the message “Hua Kai Fu Gui” for happiness and prosperity. The pair will light up any room with their bright colors and their lovely decorative style. For another Lunar New Year display option, LEGO has also released the Money Tree set for kids ages 9 and up. The set features a tangerine tree covered in red envelopes and coins.

If kids are more interested in interactive play, the Lunar New Year Parade set is full of characters participating in a huge parade, with a special float commemorating the year of the rabbit. Recommended for kids ages 8 and up, this set features three parade floats and an impressive 18 minifigures.

LEGO has also put out a couple of BrickHeadz additions to the Lunar New Year sets. The BrickHeadz are stylized LEGO versions of characters, perfect for display in a collection. The Chinese New Year Pandas set features three adorable pandas in the BrickHeadz style, as well as a mandarin tree and lantern. The Lion Dance Guy set features a character in costume, ready to perform a traditional Chinese lion dance. Both Lunar New Year BrickHeadz sets are suitable for kids ages 10 and up.

We also previously talked about the Learn About Chinese Culture DUPLO set, perfect for any younger kids that would like to participate in festivities.

If these sets aren’t quite enough to make the perfect holiday, there are some previously released LEGO designs to celebrate the occasion as well. The Lunar New Year Traditions set, the Lunar New Year Ice Festival set, and the Lion Dance set are just a few examples of others kids can get their hands on to expand their very own LEGO Lunar New Year festival.

The Lunar New Year is celebrated throughout the world, and kids can celebrate, too, building these new LEGO sets themed around the event!
