Your little Minecraft fans and NERF faithfuls are about to have their worlds collide in a very big way!
Launching Oct. 2, the Minecraft NERF World DLC (meaning downloadable content) will be an additional “world” players can download and explore through Minecraft: Bedrock Edition via the Minecraft Marketplace.
For those out of the loop, Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time. Its sandbox format (meaning high levels of creativity, interaction, and customization) lends itself naturally to partnerships such as this one with blaster brand NERF.
The Minecraft NERF World DLC partnership brings all the best of NERF (inventive blasters, its signature orange and blue color pallate) and incorporates it into a Minecraft context: There will be a NERF-themed arena, parkour challenges, and of course, blaster battles.
Kids’ favorite NERF blasters will be available for us in-game as well, including the Minecraft-branded NERF Ender Dragon Blaster. (Young fans of Minecraft will recognize the Ender Dragon, one of the game’s mightiest foes, right away.) The Ender Dragon Blaster is also currently available, physically, at Target and Walmart for $39.99.
While the game is sure to brighten gamers of all kinds’ day, here’s one for the budget-conscious parents and wallet-watchers: this joint juggernaut expedition into hybrid physical-digital gaming is totally free for those who already have the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.
