Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur promises action-packed superhero fun!
The official trailer for Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur just dropped, and it looks like the new animated show will come to Disney+ with all the force of a giant, red T. rex. The series follows Lunella Lafayette, a kid genius who unintentionally brings Devil Dinosaur to the modern day. The two become a powerful superhero team, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, protecting Lunella’s neighborhood in New York City.
Lunella is voiced by Diamond White. The series also features Fred Tatasciore as Devil Dinosaur, Libe Barer as Lunella’s best friend Casey, Alfre Woodard as Lunella’s grandmother, Gary Anthony Williams as Lunella’s grandfather, Sasheer Zamata as Lunella’s mom, Jermaine Fowler as Lunella’s dad, and Laurence Fishburne as the Beyonder. With a stellar voice cast and a number of guest voices, the first season is looking to be full of emotional performances.
The character Moon Girl originally appeared in 2015’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur No. 1 by writers Brandon Montclare and Amy Reeder and illustrator Natacha Bustos. The character has always been a young girl superhero partnered with Devil Dinosaur, an older Marvel character. Devil Dinosaur was initially conceived by Jack Kirby himself, and made his first appearance in Devil Dinosaur No. 1, a 1978 comic. While he used to be partnered with Moon-Boy, the updated character is now enjoying all the perks of living in a modern human home.
The series will premiere on Disney Channel on Feb. 10, but kids can still catch the dinosaur happenings on Disney+. The first six episodes of the series will launch on Disney+ on Feb. 15. Mark the calendars and get ready for the Lunella, girl genius, to hit the screens!
