Hasbro.PinkiPieAnimatedStorytellerWith a variety of My Little Pony product on the market, including anything from playsets to plush, it’s hard to know which will resonate the most with kids. The My Little Pony Pinkie Pie Animated Storyteller, from KIDdesigns, is a great option because it gives girls a cuddly stuffed pink pony that tells stories and sings songs.

Equipped with four fun storybooks, kids can hear Pinkie read Swarm of the CenturyFall Weather Friends, Griffon the Brush Off, or Dragonshy. Each story is numbered and although Pinkie will begin reading the stories in chronological order, kids can skip ahead to whichever story they’d like to hear first. Pinkie reads at smooth pace, allowing kids to easily follow along in their own books. Each book contains beautiful illustrations and the stories incorporate kids’ favorite characters from the show, including Spike, Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, and more.

Hasbro.PinkiePieAnimatedStoryteller2While Pinkie Pie reads, kids can pause the story at any time and Pinkie will always pick up right where she left off. She also gives off a signal sound once it’s time to flip to the next page. When kids are ready to take a break from reading, they can hit the music note button and listen to (or sing along with) Pinkie as she sings up to three different songs.

As the pony sings (and reads) her mouth moves perfectly in sync with the words. I spent a good period of time (probably more than I’d like to admit) just focusing on the toy’s mouth movements to see if Pinkie ever messed up, and I was impressed with how spot on she was.

Even though Pinkie Pie is just a toy, kids will love how true-to-character she is and will appreciate having a pony pal always by their sides ready to read them a story at any moment. Also look for the My Little Pony Princess Cadance Animated Storyteller.
