Game night is getting an upgrade! Nex Playground is launching a new video game inspired by the live-action movie How to Train Your Dragon, so families can ride their own reptile from the comfort of home.

How to Train Your Dragon: Riders of the Skies uses unique motion-capture technology to insert kids into the game. It challenges players to get off the couch and use their bodies to fly, train, and defend the Isle of Berk from its foes. Families can play now on the Nex Playground console with Play Pass.

The adventure starts by selecting a dragon to ride, like Toothless, Deadly Nadder, or Gronckle, and soaring through six maps featuring the series’ most iconic locales. Kids can harness their skills in Training Mode by aiming at wooden targets or swooping for sheep around the island. When they’re ready, little dragon riders can take on Defend Berk maps, an action-packed mode full of enemy dragons to defeat. Fly solo as a single player, or team up as a family — just watch out for friendly fire!

How to Train Your Dragon: Riders of the Skies is now available on Nex Playground with Play Pass. Families can check store availability and browse the console’s impressive library of kid-friendly video games on its website.
