What’s the difference between an ordinary Pokémon trainer and a stellar one? The Pokémon Brilliant Stars Elite Trainer Box!

The ninth expansion to the Sword and Shield Brilliant Stars series set, this elite trainer box takes the typical TCG gameplay to new heights as players journey through the constellations and battle among some of the strongest celestial powers in the Pokémon World, including Arceus VSTAR, creator of the universe.

Designed for kids ages 6 and up, this set contains virtually everything under the Pokémon Sun: eight 10-card booster packs (with an additional energy or VSTAR card in each pack), 65 card sleeves featuring Arceus, 45 Pokémon TCG Energy cards, six damage-counter dice, two acrylic condition markers, and an acrylic VSTAR marker. The set is packaged in a white-and-black collector’s box adorned with gold, holographic imagery of Arceus.

I know, that’s a lot of moving parts, and a lot of Pokémon to keep track of. Luckily, the kit includes a Brilliant Stars player’s guide and a TCG rule book to direct trainers-in-the-making as they rocket to victory.

For seasoned Pokémon vets, the most exciting thing about this set is the possibility of pulling a rare card — like the Charizard Rainbow Secret Rare or the Arceus Gold Secret Rare — from one of the eight booster packs. For the novice trainers out there (like myself), however, this trainer box is also a great way to get acquainted with the basics of TCG gameplay. The Pokémon TCG player’s guide details everything that is in the box, while the Pokémon TCG rulebook carefully lays out how the game works. The set includes all of the necessary pieces for a complete TCG battle, making it accessible for first-time players and experienced trainers alike.

TCG is definitely intimidating for beginners, but I found that the best way to get comfortable with the game is through practice! This kit offers a unique experience for all Pokémon fans, bringing a modern design and new characters to the game they know and love. Plus, the collector’s box makes for easy and organized storage when playtime is over, and is a great addition to any Pokémon shelf!
