Spooky season is approaching, and game publisher Ravensburger is releasing some haunting board games just in time to make family game night absolutely ghoulish.

Kids ages 10 and up can get ready to face new terrifying creatures in Horrified: American Monsters. Following the 2019 release of Ravensburger’s Horrified: Universal Monsters, this board game specifically features a line-up of terrifying beasts that are rumored to haunt the United States. Up to five players must work together to face new challenges that require unique solutions and strategies to defeat each gruesome creature. Find and confront ancient legends including Bigfoot, Mothman, the Jersey Devil, the Chupacabra, the Banshee of the Badlands, and the Ozark Howler.

Kids can follow along the app-guided stories as they try to solve the mysteries. | Source: Ravensburger

Echos: An Audio Mystery Game takes game night to the next level by combining technology and mystery. Using a free companion app, one to six players wave their phones over a deck of illustrated cards to trigger sound cues. Then, it’s time to pair both the cards and sounds to piece together the mystery. The app-aided Echos series is launching this fall with two stories: The Dancer and The Cocktail. Teens ages 14 and up can follow the tale of a haunted manor in the Scottish countryside or visit a smoky New York speakeasy to uncover the secrets of mobsters — the choice is theirs.
