schleich_croppedIt’s time for young and aspiring equestrians to take the reins.

The Horse Club Riding Centre, from Schleich, is a young horse lover’s dream with it’s full stable that can transform into a riding ring. It’s basically like a five-star hotel for the majestic creatures.

I was more obsessed with puppies than horses as a kid (and still am TBH), but I still really enjoyed playing with this set. There are so many different things to do, as the stable is fully equipped with most anything you can think of when it comes to caring for a horse.

The set comes with an Arabian mare and a foal, as well as with a rider already in position, ready to gallop. There’s a saddle, bridle, hanging rack for the saddle, and troughs to stock the stable with all the necessary gear. There is even a blanket to keep them cozy. The plaid pattern on the blanket is similar to one of my scarves, so I felt like these horsies and I could be good pals.

All the pieces are fairly simple to snap into place, and it’s even easier to transform the removable parts to create a training ring with the paddocks and the roof. The detachable roof also has windows to regulate the temperature of the stable.

True to the Schleich brand, the entire set is incredibly detailed, from the horses to the brick on the stable to the food and cooler. It’s supplied with several different snacks for the horses, such as carrots, apples, and hay. There are also tools to groom them and even hanging baskets to put in the windows.

The sticker sheet allows for kids to tap into their interior decorating skills. Each stall in the stable has a nameplate and kids can write on stickers to name their horses. I named one of mine Billy, after the regal stallion that pulled my carriage through Central Park last weekend.

The set is to scale with other Schleich horse figurines, so kids can use their horse collection to fill out the stables. But this play set is already a lot of fun on its own with all that it includes and kids can horse around for hours.
