Many families have had to cancel their summer travels as we continue fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, but you can still tour the country from home with a special version of Scrabble from The Op.

Get to know our national parks and monuments with Scrabble: National Parks Special Edition, suitable for kids ages 8 and up. Like the original Scrabble game, players can use any words allowed in regular Scrabble, but those who know their wildlife, nature, and history-related vocabulary can really shine, because those are worth more points. The more places, items, activities, and people that players can relate to the U.S. national parks will bring them closer to victory!

The 2-to-4 player board game includes wooden tiles and tile racks, as well as wood grain-patterned cards that give off all the outdoorsy cabin vibes. There are also 26 national parks bonus cards that make the game customizable. Titled after parks, landmarks, and based on fun facts, these cards give players an edge to stack up more points. For example, use Mammoth Cave National Park to get a 75-point bonus when you place all seven tiles, or Agate Fossil Beds National Monument to spell a word backward on the board.

A portion of each purchase helps support the National Park Foundation’s restoration and preservation of the U.S. national parks. That means when we’re all allowed to travel safely again, the parks will be in tip-top shape for us.

Scrabble: National Parks Special Edition is in stores now.
