Los Angeles is about to feel sweet victory from their favorite sponge.
SpongeBob fans are clamoring to see what surprises are in store as the release of the highly anticipated film The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On The Run gets closer to its March 4 release date. Although fans can’t get the old fashioned movie theater experience due to COVID-19 restrictions, they can still see SpongeBob on the big screen with a new, immersive drive-through experience at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, created by Paramount+.
Before the screening, guests can drive through an “underwater” activation featuring SpongeBob and his friends in multiple experiential environments and various photo ops. After the “dive-through,” fans can grab one of the socially distant parking spots to watch the first episode of the Paramount+ original series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob the Underyears, followed by the full premiere of the feature film Sponge On The Run.
The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run will see our favorite yellow friend team up with his bestie Patrick and the rest of the Bikini Bottom gang to find his missing snail Gary. The Kamp Koral series will feature a 10-year-old SpongeBob and his adventures at Lake Yuckymuck sleepaway camp.
Ticket prices will range from $30-100, with all ticket proceeds going to the environmental nonprofit Heal the Bay. The event will take place with multiple showings on Feb. 27-28.
