This year marks 10 years since Subway Surfers hit the ground running in the app store. To celebrate more than three billion downloads, SYBO Games is launching a fan competition and fun visual changes to the game.
The Subway Surfers Super Runner competition invites all fans to enter for a chance to be immortalized as a playable character in the game. To enter, players must post on social media — via TikTok, Twitter, or Instagram — to show and tell SYBO what makes them a Super Runner using key hashtags that include #SubwaySurfers, #SuperRunners, and #SubwaySurfers10Years. SYBO will then review the participants and choose a winner. SYBO’s artistic team will collaborate with the winner to design a character that will be added to the game later this year. The competition is live now and will run until June 5.
The 10th anniversary celebration also introduces fun updates to the mobile game. Subway Surfers will feature futuristic visuals and special effects, including the main characters dressed in superhero skins.
SYBO has also been celebrating the upcoming anniversary for months by giving back to the community that made the past decade possible. For example, the Play 2 Plant initiative with Ecologi planted 200,000 trees. Also, SYBO teamed up with the Born This Way Foundation to raise awareness for the annual #BeKind21 campaign and to create a more connected community that fosters mental wellness. Along with these efforts, SYBO delivered new in-game content and features to fans.
