There’s a new superhero in town, and he’s got an exceptionally difficult foe—pediatric cancer.

SuperMax With PackageSuper Max the Turtle, from Cloud b, is a compact, portable, plastic version of the company’s popular Twilight Turtle. Inspired by 8-year-old Max Wilford, who has been battling brain cancer for more than three years, Super Max the Turtle aims to empower kids, raise awareness about pediatric cancer, and support the work of the MaxLove Project through proceeds from the sales of the product.

In 2011, Max’s parents used Cloud b’s Twilight Turtle to help with Max’s fear of the dark after a three-week hospital stay. Max identified with the Turtle’s green stars as “healing” stars, holding the Turtle up to the back of his head, and saying “Look mommy, I’m healing.” After witnessing this act of empowerment, Max’s mother and father wanted to find a way to share the healing and inspiring power of the Twilight Turtle with other children fighting cancer, and they wrote to Cloud b requesting to purchase Twilight Turtles at a discounted rate. Instead, the company’s CEO agreed to donate the Twilight Turtles entirely—giving birth to the MaxLove Project. Since then, Cloud b has given more than $150,000 worth of Twilight Turtles to kids fighting cancer and other diseases worldwide.

Super Max the Turtle features a sweet smile modeled after Max’s, and has the same glowing starlight projections of the original Twilight Turtle. Designed to sooth kids at bedtime, it projects blue, amber, or green stars from its shell. Unlike the original Twilight Turtle, Super Max is made entirely of easy-to-clean plastic and doesn’t feature any plush material, so parents can be sure it’s kept sterile and safe for all kids. Its tiny and compact form make it easy to take on-the-go, and its simple and thoughtful design make it a perfect fit for all kids. Super Max also features a 45-minute auto shut-off timer that ensures complete darkness once kids fall asleep, as recommended by pediatricians.

Super Max the Turtle with sleeping childSuper Max also comes with an adorably illustrated bedtime story that explains how a normal, ordinary turtle became Super Max, a superhero reptile who heals kids in need with his shining rays of light and rainbow cape. At the end of the story, parents can read on to share Max Wilford’s inspiring tale, written by his mother Audra, with their kids.

Every inch of Super Max the Turtle helps empower kids, right down to the comic book-inspired packaging. Perfect for families looking to spread the love or help a child or family in need of a little super healing power, Super Max is taking down childhood cancer with a new kind of turtle power.
