Tacos aren’t just for Tuesdays anymore; with the Haywire Group’s latest game, Taco Takeover, tacos are on the menu every night. Now that calls for a fiesta!

In this fast-paced game for two to four players, opponents race to fill their taco shells with the list of ingredients on their order ticket. The first player to collect all the ingredients for their taco order yells, “Ole!” and wins the first round. Whoever wins three rounds first becomes the Taco Champion.

Before things get a little loco, each player must take a taco shell and place an order ticket— which lists all the ingredients players will need to collect— face-down in front of them. Then, make sure to shuffle all the toppings cards, scatter them into a messy pile, and leave them face-down in the middle of the playing area. Toppings include everything from guacamole to cheese, beef, and more, sure to kick your cravings into full swing.

On the count of, “Uno, Dos, Tres!” players quickly flip their order tickets over and begin the mad dash to flip over the 75 topping cards in search of the right ingredients to fill their tacos. If a player flips over a card with an ingredient they need, they take it and put it in their taco. If a player flips a card that he or she does not need, it stays face-up in the pile.

Scattered within the topping cards are special cards that can turn any taco sour on the spot. For example, if a player grabs a “La Cucaracha” card, he or she must dump all the topping cards out of his or her shell and those cards are no longer up for grabs. The “Antacid” card gives a player the ability to make any opponent dump all of his or her topping cards out, remove the cards from the game, and begin from scratch. If a player grabs a “¡Loco!” card, they’re in luck; this card acts as a wildcard for any topping.

Taco Takeover is a chaotic game that keeps players frantically on the hunt in order to outdo their fellow servers. With tons of ingredients to sort through, opponents to race against, and a taco to stuff, the battle is on to crown the best taco maker in town.
