SSC_Summer_ICON copyKids can live out an endless summer with Strawberry Shortcake and her berry best friends with Cupcake Digital’s Strawberry Shortcake Summer Fun storybook and activity app. Available on the App Store, Amazon Appstore for Android, and Google Play, and for NOOK, Tabeo and Nabi devices, this app is available all summer long for just $2.99.

In this story, inspired by Fox Home Entertainment’s Strawberry Shortcake Fun Under the Sun DVDit’s summer vacation and Strawberry and her friends are off to Berry Breezy Resort for their annual trip. Unfortunately Strawberry Shortcake, Blueberry Muffin, Cherry Jam, Lemon Meringue, Orange Blossom, and Plum Pudding all arrive there to learn that the resort is closed for the day because the weather is just too berry breezy. Kids will have to follow along with the story to find out whether or not the girls’ trip can be salvaged, all while playing fruit-astic games, including Berry Blast and Berry Bitty Surfing.

These fun-filled, sun-filled activities will have kids helping Strawberry to collect strawberries as she surfs to Berry Island in Berry Bitty Surfing. While kids unlock rewards and earn points to unlock surf gear and characters, they’ll also have to avoid the obstacles so Strawberry doesn’t wipe out! Additionally, Berry Blast is a fun matching game that prompts kids to match items of the same color together to create a chain as they score points and earn badges.

The app itself is extremely easy to use and navigate so it can be enjoyed by kids and Strawberry Shortcake-lovers (like myself) of all ages. My favorite feature is the summer-themed coloring pages that allow kids to color and paint their own beach scenes using glitter, stickers, and more.
