Transformers are best-known for saving the world and epic battles, but now they’re swooping in to help little readers hone their skills. Inspired by the hit animated series created by Hasbro Studios, Transformers Rescue Bots, which currently airs on the Hub Network in the U.S., Transformers Rescue Bots: Sky Forest Rescue, from PlayDate Digital and Hasbro Inc.,turns early reading into an engaging adventure.
Transformers Rescue Bots: Sky Forest Rescue is a storybook app that allows beginner and emergent readers jump into the center of the story, working as rescue cadets in training with the Burns family and the Rescue Bots to save Griffin Rock from out-of-control sky forest vines and plants. The app is the first interactive storybook app based on the Transformers Rescue Bots brand. Now the adventures of the Rescue Bots and their human partners that are featured on the show can be integrated into kids’ early reading experiences.
The story that the app tells is engaging, and each page of the story is interactive, so kids actually get to participate in the adventure. When a new Sky Forest tower is constructed in Griffin Rock, the city finds itself under attack by ravenous plants. The story features danger, excitement, unique inventions, and some very hungry vegetation. As a new cadet in training, the reader can help Cody and the Rescue Bots and help to save the day (and the Sky Forest!).
The app’s ability to let kids fully interact with the story makes learning to read fun and engaging. Although the app has a read-to-me function, kids are not simply listening to a story, but following along and interacting with the characters. The app is super educational, but also keeps kids interested by immersing them in a familiar world of their favorite characters.
