Walkie Chalk, a new way to play with chalk, has officially launched on Kickstarter. This invention lets parents and grandparents get in on sidewalk chalk drawing action, and lets kids be even more creative than ever.

Walkie Chalk, the brainchild of a pregnant mother who wanted to be able to create chalk art with her older children without bending over, lets sidewalk artists of all ages add length to their chalk. Able to support both square and round pieces, Walkie Chalk makes it possible to draw bigger and cooler sidewalk art.

The adjustable 24- to 36-inch stick comes in three separate pieces so that the length can be adjusted for smaller—or bigger—hands. Initially, Walkie Chalk will only be available in the color Lucky Lime, but if enough money is pledged, Walkie Chalk LLC also plans to produce its product in Tropical Teal.

To get started, all kids need to do is slide the color of their choice in to the high-density, child-safe, patented foam and get drawing. Each stick comes with two assorted pieces of chalk. Not only is it super entertaining, but playing with Walkie Chalk can also help smaller street artists to develop fine motor skills, cultivate creative cognitive development, and encourage a love of art and being outdoors!

Kickstarter donations range from $1 to $500 and prizes include Walkie Chalk early bird specials, and packages that range from three to 60 Walkie Chalks.
