If you enjoyed Big Hero 6, prepare for a trip back to the fantastical city of San Fransokyo!
In celebration of National Streaming Day, Disney+ has unveiled a trailer and key art for Baymax!, a new Walt Disney Animation Studios’ series that takes place in the same universe as Big Hero 6. The new series follows the daily life of the titular Baymax, fans’ favorite inflatable health care companion robot.
This new series will explore Baymax’s daily endeavors to fulfill his original purpose: helping the people of San Fransokyo with their medical needs. Don Hall, the series’ creator who also led the production Big Hero 6, said that in each episode, Baymax will set out to help someone, regardless of whether they want help or not. In his attempt to fix a physical issue he identified, the beloved medical robot will address a deeper and more emotional issue that his patient is facing.
Baymax! is produced by Roy Conli and Bradford Simonsen, and directed by Dean Wellins, Lissa Treiman, Dan Abraham, and Mark Kennedy. Scott Adsit, who voiced Baymax in Big Hero 6, will make a return in this series.
Baymax! will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ on June 29. Watch the trailer below!
