Summertime and the living’s easy. Okay, maybe not that easy, but Amazon is making things a little better with Camp Prime, giving families safe ways to have fun at home this summer.
Created in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the program is free and available to everyone, even if they’re not a Prime member. Families across the country can participate and access the free Camp Prime Handbook at amazon.com/campprime for fun activities to do at home, such as building an indoor campfire (without the actual fire), making S’mores, storytime, learning to garden with an uncycled box, creating STEM projects, and more.
Families can also tune in for a series of guided video tutorials led by experts, including creating DIY summer sailboats out of pool noodles with the founder of P.S. I Made This founder Erica Domesek, on July 14; learning how to beatbox with TikTok star, Joey Klaasen, on July 17; learning a dance routine with choreographer Sherrie Silver on July 18; and other fun activities.
Amazon is also providing $500,000 in donations to Boys & Girls Clubs to help further their mission of enabling young people to reach their full potential. The funds will help Boys & Girls Clubs offer safe and fun summer activities to youth and families across the country, including virtual programming options and ‘curbside camp’ kits available for pickup at select locations.
Videos will launch daily starting today through July 18 at 1 p.m. EDT live on the Amazon Day One blog and on the participating influencers’ platforms. Prime members can make the most of their experience with bonus Camp Prime-themed content through Prime Video, Prime Reading, and Amazon Music as part of their memberships.
Families that own an Amazon device can ask: “Alexa, What is Camp Prime?” to get more information about the summer program, and “Alexa, tell me the fun fact of the day” to start out their camp day with an educational anecdote. Happy camping!
