In recognition of Autism Acceptance Month, Easterseals Southern California (ESSC) has teamed up with Blippi (Clayton Grimm) for a special episode.
The Blippi show receives more than one billion views each month and is available to watch on more than 27 global services, including Netflix, Cartoon Network, and HBO Max. Recommended for kids up to age 6, Blippi goes on adventures to explore new places, meet new people, and inspire learning through play.
In the new “Blippi Meets Hans the Robot” episode, Blippi visits an Easterseals SoCal therapy center and meets Hans, an ESSC therapeutic robot. Together, they explore the different ways kids can eat, dance, and play. Blippi and Hans also get the chance to talk with Michele Dew, the director of therapy services at ESSC, to explain how some kids learn differently and how Hans can help them learn new things.
The partnership and episode came from parents of kids with autism reaching out to Blippi about how his programs have helped their kids develop better communication skills. ESSC’s autism services team uses therapies that are designed to help build skills of individuals with autism, trying different teaching strategies to find which ones work best for each individual kid.
