Everyone thinks their pet is a superhero, and they’re not wrong! Kids can play out their super-pets fantasies in Outright Games’ new DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace video game.
Licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of DC, the game is inspired by the Warner Bros. Pictures animated movie, DC League of Super-Pets, debuting in theaters on July 29. In the video game, the fate of Metropolis is in the paws of DC‘s Super-Pets Krypto and Ace as they take on Superman‘s arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor.
The villain has a plan to capture the stray animals around the city, and kids can play as the Super-Pets across multiple missions to save strays from Lex Luthor’s army of robots. Once kids rescue all the strays, they can bring them to the adoption agency to help them find loving homes in another mini game. Players can also help pet pals PB, Merton, and Chip unlock upgrades to assist Krypto and Ace on their missions, with the chance to earn three unique abilities for each playable pup as the game progresses.
On July 19, DC will also release an original graphic novel by writer Heath Corson and artist Bobby Timony, called DC League of Super-Pets: The Great Mxy-Up. In the story, Krypto, Ace, and the rest of the Super-Pets need to rescue their Justice League human counterparts from Mr. Mxyzptlk, a magical imp from the fifth dimension, before he destroys Metropolis. There will also be a special Walmart version featuring a bonus story that showcases Wonder Woman’s biggest fan, pot-bellied pig PB.
DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace is available today on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. Players will be able to find free Xbox Series X|S and PS5 upgrades on Sept. 30.
