The Earth is magnificent, and Disney wants to celebrate it.
In honor of Earth Month (April), Disney+ will debut two new DisneyNature films on Friday, April 3. New documentary Elephant, narrated by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and the Natalie Portman-emceed Dolphin Reef documentary are part of the streaming service’s Earth Day-themed programming collection this April.
Elephant follows African elephant Shani and her spirited son Jomo as they make an impressive, difficult journey across the vast Kalahari Desert. The family, and matriarch Gaia, faces brutal heat, dwindling resources, and predators as they go on a quest to reach a lush, green oasis.
Dolphin Reef heads under the sea to meet Pacific bottlenose dolphin Echo, who is on the cusp of adulthood and facing his responsibilities to help keep the coral reef healthy. The dolphin film follows DisneyNature’s signature storytelling and style.
The collection will also include other titles from National Geographic and DisneyNature, including last year’s Penguins, In the Footsteps of Elephant, A Life on the Edge, and Diving with Dolphins.
