Disney announced the Ultimate Princess Celebration earlier this year — an ongoing celebration to highlight the courage, kindness, and adventurous spirit of all the Disney Princesses. Now Disney is adding to the royal festivities with the first World Princess Week, a global event that kicks off on Aug. 23.
The special week will celebrate the courage and kindness of the Disney Princesses with the goal of inspiring fans to display the same acts of kindness in their own lives. World Princess Week will feature new products, digital content, a Disney Princess Hotline presented by shopDisney, exciting offerings at Disney Parks and Resorts, a Disney Channel special, retail activations, and more.
Fans can tune in for a new Courage and Kindness Club YouTube series and a week of Disney Princess content on the Disney Parks Blog. In the YouTube series, Disney Princesses and Frozen characters will showcase easy ways for young fans to show kindness and be more courageous in their daily lives. Disney Channel will debut a music special on Friday, Aug. 27 (7:30 p.m. ET/PT), called Disney Princess Remixed — An Ultimate Princess Celebration. The half-hour special will feature reimagined performances of Disney Princess songs, including “Into the Unknown” from Frozen 2, “Home” from Beauty and the Beast, “Almost There” from Princess and the Frog, and “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid. Recording artist Brandy will also debut her music video for “Starting Now,” the anthem for The Walt Disney Co.‘s Ultimate Princess Celebration.
New toys and collectibles will launch from Hasbro, Jakks Pacific, the LEGO Group, and Funko at mass retailers. shopDisney will debut Disney Designer Collection Princess dolls with 12 designs, starting with Princess Jasmine in October. Disney Publishing Worldwide will launch new books, including 50 kid-friendly recipes in The Disney Princess Cookbook; a rom-com reimagining of Cinderella in If the Shoe Fits; a holiday-inspired picture book called 12 Days of Princess; and 14 original stories in a hardcover deluxe storybook collection called Tales of Courage and Kindness.
Kids can call the Ultimate Princess Celebration Hotline presented by shopDisney starting on Aug. 23 to hear new, recorded messages from five Disney Princess characters (dial 1-877-70-DISNEY). Fans can also hear special recordings from Frozen’s Anna and Elsa by visiting shopdisney.com.
Lastly, those who are visiting Disney Parks and Resorts next week can look for themed merchandise and special photo opps around the premises. At Walt Disney World Resort, guests can look for a new Princess Tiana-themed playground starting on Aug. 23 as part of the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. Guests will also find food and beverage offerings themed to each of the 14 Disney Princess heroes and Frozen queens. Nightly Movies Under the Stars at Walt Disney World Resorts will play a line-up of Disney Princess films. Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures will return to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa in Disneyland beginning on Aug. 26. Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland Park will also have princess surprises in store.
