Kids, parents, and friends can gather to embark on a heroic board game journey! Ravensburger’s fifth edition of the Horrified series uses elements from Wizards of the Coast’s popular role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons (D&D).
Kids ages 10 and up must venture through the Forgotten Realms and work together to survive and thrive. As a team, you can gather items to help you on your journey, save people, and take on monsters together.

Each player can choose one of five Heroes, who are inspired by the various classes from the original Dungeons & Dragons game: the Wizard, the Rogue, the Fighter, the Cleric, and the Bard. With each role comes unique abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, so kids can decide how they want to play as a team. Kids can then roll a 20-sided die to determine the results of their actions and special abilities.
Teams have the chance to encounter monsters that longtime D&D fans will find familiar, like one-eyed Beholders, mysteriously disguised Mimics, ferocious Displacer Beasts, and the powerful Red Dragon. Each monster encounter comes with a puzzle for the team to solve before battling, so players will have to put their minds together to emerge victorious.
The Horrified: Dungeons & Dragons Board Game will launch worldwide on Aug. 1, but families can preorder it now at Target.
