LEGO is working to ensure playtime is available to kids who need it most this holiday season.
For the 7th year, LEGO’s #BuildtoGive initiative will give builders a building prompt in exchange for corporate charity. This year’s pledge? For every heart built out of LEGO bricks and shared on social media with the hashtag #BuildtoGive, the company will donate a LEGO set to a kid in need.
The LEGO hearts don’t need to be standardized in any way – just build and share, and LEGO will donate. However, for those who need a little guidance, LEGO also provided step-by-step instructions for a fool-proof heart.
The company’s aim is to donate to over a million kids worldwide in hospitals, children’s homes, and vulnerable communities.
The sets donated as a part of the initiative will be distributed through the LEGO Group’s network of charity partners in 24 countries globally. The #BuildToGive initiative, which has resulted in over 6 million donated LEGO sets since its inception, is part of the LEGO Group’s broader Play is Your Superpower initiative, which aims to inspire families to reprioritize playtime.
LEGO’s #BuildtoGive campaign runs until Dec. 31. So give a heartfelt (and shaped) “Happy holidays!” to kids in need now by getting involved at LEGO.com/BuildToGive.
