Why keep work and play separate?
Teachers can bring the world of brick-building fun to classrooms with LEGO Education Professional Development by LEGO Education. This program combines hands-on and research-based STEAM activities that help teachers better adapt to student learning styles, develop effective teaching strategies, and apply their knowledge in classroom settings.
The learning program is designed around LEGO Education’s Competency-Based Framework, which includes four core categories: 21st Century Skills, Classroom Management, Pedagogy, and STEAM Concepts. LEGO Education worked with classroom practitioners at Tufts University Center for Engineering Education Outreach (CEEO) to ensure the LEGO Education standard of competency and product-training.
LEGO Education Professional Development is a free virtual program with a modular structure to give teachers flexibility through two sections: Learning Bursts, for quick skill practice, and Learning Quests, for comprehensive development. Teachers can pick and choose courses according to their needs while observing playful STEAM learning through videos of in-person, socially distanced, and virtual classrooms. These self-guided learning modules provide interactive competency-based courses, product video tutorials, and LEGO Education learning philosophy resources.
For instructors in the U.S., LEGO Education Professional Development offers exclusive full-day facilitated learning led by certified LEGO Education trainers (virtual and on-site) to learn and master concepts with expert feedback. This customized coaching experience allows teachers to develop and apply STEAM-learning skills.
The program will launch in eight languages and feature LEGO Education SPIKE Prime and LEGO Education BricQ Motion product training. Additional LEGO Education solutions will be added throughout the year. To learn more about LEGO Education Professional Development, visit legoeducation.com.
