Kids can have even more fun under the sea — literally — with Mattel‘s new collection of dolls inspired by the upcoming Disney film, The Little Mermaid, set to hit theaters on May 26. Mattel’s Disney The Little Mermaid collection includes fashion dolls, figures, doll sets, playsets, and more, plus the recently released Disney The Little Mermaid Ariel Doll.
The line of dolls is designed with looks and accessories shown in the new feature film. The collection includes a wide array of characters including familiar favorites like Prince Eric, King Triton, lovable friends Sebastian and Flounder, Ariel’s six sisters, Vanessa, and of course Ursula, suitable for play on land and in the water.
Aside from individual fashion dolls, the assortment includes sets to inspire storytelling — groupings of characters and accessories meant to play out different scenes from the film. For example, the Ariel and Prince Eric set ($29.99) includes an Ariel fashion doll with legs so kids can imagine the conversation (or lack thereof!) when Ariel is on land and tries to help Prince Eric guess her name. On the other hand, the Ariel, King Triton, and Ursula bundle ($59.99) includes the Ariel mermaid doll with her signature mermaid tail.
Other highlights include Storytime Stackers Ariel’s Grotto Playset ($26.99), where both Ariel and kids can hide their favorite things; the Sing & Dream Ariel Fashion Doll ($24.99), who sings “Part of Your World” for the music lovers; and the Transforming Ariel Fashion Doll ($26.99), who magically transforms from human to mermaid with a push of her shell necklace.
