New season = new wardrobe! And that goes for your toys, too! Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America is giving the Original Tamagotchi some new outfits for summer with three new styles that are full of color.
The new shells include a pink-and-purple ice cream theme with sprinkles on top and a cone on the bottom; a lightning theme with blue, yellow, and pink neon colors; and an art theme with pastel brush strokes on a light pink backdrop.
Designed for kids ages 8 and up, the Original Tamagotchi is a digital pet that lives inside an egg-like device meant to take on the go. Kids can feed, nurture, discipline, and play games with their virtual pet to help it grow from a baby to an adult. How players raise their Tamagotchi character will determine which of the seven adults it will grow into.
The new ice cream and art versions are Generation 1 Tamagotchis, featuring a character game in which players have to guess which way the Tamagotchi character will move next. The lightning bolt shell is Generation 2, featuring a number game in which players must guess whether the next number will be higher or lower than what is on the screen.
All three of the new styles are available for preorder now on Amazon for $19.99 each. The official launch date is June 30.
