WHAT IT IS
Garden Republic’s Jr. Peanuts Paint and Grow Starter Kit mixes arts and crafts with STEM-focused play. The kit includes tools for kids to paint a wooden Peanuts-themed planter and grow several flowers. Families will find a growing guide, three soil disks, a watering bottle, 12 acrylic paints, three paint brushes, and a paint palette in the set.
The growing guide includes step-by-step instructions to grow the included flowers, such as Marigolds, successfully. It features progress checks for kids to chart the height of the flowers and when they watered the planter. It also includes science activities that teach kids about the science behind flowers. Word scrambles, quizzes, search and finds, and more will help young gardeners learn about the plant life cycle, soil, and plant anatomy.

WHY WE LOVE IT
This kit teaches little ones the basics of gardening and nature in a fun, colorful way. The guide shows young gardeners how to pack the soil, place the seeds, and help the flowers blossom through routine watering and proper sunlight. Kids will feel confident in their new skills when their hard work blossoms (and may not realize they’re learning throughout the process). While they wait for the seeds to grow, kids can refine their math, cognitive thinking, and science skills while working through the STEM activities in the growing guide.
Kids can also express their creativity while painting images of Peanuts characters like Snoopy, Lucy, Woodstock, and more on the outside of the wooden planter. It’s a great way to highlight the importance of both science and art.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
Families can use the planter in the house or outside — if planting the seeds inside, be sure to place a trash bag or paper towels down. Caregivers or older siblings might need to help younger kids work through the growing guide and remember to take care of the plant.
