It’s time to bring some color back to playtime!
After a 45 year hiatus, Playmobil has reintroduced Playmobil Color, with five new sets released in collaboration with Crayola. These sets include basic blank figures and accessories along with Crayola markers that allow kids to discover their artistic side and personalize the sets however they want. Designed for kids ages 5 and up, these sets encourage creativity and bring imaginations to life.
The figures and accessories from Playmobil Color arrive in the packaging without many designs, giving kids the maximum scope for all their creative ideas. Everything is possible, from colors and shapes to texts and patterns. Plus, every figure is guaranteed to be unique.

The Playmobil Color sets come with Crayola nontoxic washable markers in lively colors. These Crayola Ultra Clean markers have a wide tip, so they are easy for little hands to apply and practice fine motor skills. The colors are very fast-drying so that kids can cleanly handle the figures. However, if the colors do get on clothes, hands, or walls, it is very easy to wash them off. The set even comes with a mini sponge to clean off the marker, which is most effective when lightly dampened. Not only is this easy cleaning perfect for parents trying to avoid a mess, but it also enhances the playing experience. Kids can wash off their designs and color again endlessly, keeping the experience fresh and fun with each playtime.
The five new Playmobil Color sets include Backstage, Dressing Room, Motorbike, Fashion Show Designer, and Hot Rod themes. For my review, I received the Backstage set, which invites kids to go shopping at a fashion boutique. There are plenty of outfits to try on in the changing room, as well as bags and other accessories. The combinations are never-ending!
The Backstage set comes with 84 pieces, many of which are small, in separate bags along with assembly instructions. Although the pieces come in bags, the bags are not labeled, which would make the assembly process easier and more organized. However, a simple solution I recommend is cleaning off a flat surface to dump all of the pieces together and sorting through them to find the right piece.
