Sesame Street is back — and we have a good feeling about it!
The beloved preschool series’ 55th season will begin on Jan. 16. Word on the street is that this season is all about expressing your feelings.
Emotions can feel really big when you’re small, so this season of Sesame Street empowers kids to understand, cope with, and express their emotions in a healthy way. Aimed to combat the growing mental health crisis in kids, young viewers can develop kid-friendly strategies that lay the foundation for a future of emotional well-being. Whether it’s taking a deep breath when you’re angry or wiggling out your sadness, kids can learn to overcome their big feelings while having a blast with their favorite furry friends!
The season features a star-studded lineup of guests that will appeal to fans of all ages. The first episode will start strong with pop singer Reneé Rapp joining Elmo in a special song about feeling your feelings. Michael B. Jordan, Samara Joy, Noah Kahan, SZA, Jonathan Van Ness, and many more celebrities will also make appearances on the series for silly songs, Street story times, and other merry muppet mayhem.Â
Sesame Street will also air its first-ever CGI short series this season! In Mecha Builders, 3D-animated versions of Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Abby will go on exciting digitized adventures within the episodes while introducing little ones to new STEM concepts.
The 55th season of Sesame Street will air on Jan. 16 on Max and PBS, with new episodes every Thursday. The entire season will also be available to stream on the PBS KIDS Video App in the fall.Â
