As a way to keep families engaged and calm through school closures and COVID-19, Sesame Workshop has expanded its Caring for Each Other initiative with a slew of new songs, animated Sesame Street clips, and helpful parent resources.
Following up on the nonprofit program’s launch, Sesame Workshop has continued to roll out new content to keep families physically and mentally healthy as the spread of the coronavirus continues. Today, the organization added animations on healthy habits, resources focused on providing kids comfort, and activities that caregivers can use to help kids learn while schools are closed.
Videos are available in 19 languages and cover topics about hand-washing, sneezing properly, and self-care. The new animated TV spots will be distributed across HBO, PBS Kids, Univision, the Ad Council, YouTube, partners from Sesame Street in Communities, and other international broadcast partners.
The website also includes resources featuring coping strategies, kid-friendly explanations for tough questions about the current situation, and ways to keep everyone healthy. Families can also sign up for a newsletter with Sesame Street activities and strategies.
