Our favorite hasty hedgehog is running his way to online gaming platform Roblox in a new game called Sonic Speed Simulator. Produced by Gamefam in collaboration with SEGA America, the new Sonic the Hedgehog game marks the first time that a AAA gaming character will be officially featured on Roblox.
Roblox is a digital platform where millions of players gather together every day to create and share experiences in immersive, 3D worlds. All of the online games on the platform are built by members of the Roblox community for members of the Roblox community. Roblox is free to download and play on all modern smartphones, tablets, computers, Xbox One, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive.
In Sonic Speed Simulator, players will level up and gain speed by running through multiple worlds and racing against friends. The game offers opportunities to earn rewards, including Sonic character skins and pets that can increase player stats. Players can also expect regular weekly updates, and they will earn an exclusive community character skin once the game has received 10,000 likes. Starting tomorrow, April 14, fans can dash their way through the game for free on Roblox.
This is the latest in a long line of Gamefam partnerships, which previously included popular Mattel, Sony, and MGA brands. GameFam continues to bring brands into the metaverse and connect with Roblox’s rapidly growing consumer base.
