Houston, we have a cool toy.
We’re about to blast off into fun with Learning Resources’ latest screen-free coding kit for littles: the Space Rover Deluxe Coding Activity Set.
Designed for kids ages 4 and up, this set challenges pint-size space explorers to code their space rover through customizable mazes.
While coding toys may seem complicated, this one is actually incredibly simple. Kids will learn the basics of “if/then” logic by using the directional buttons on the rover to guide it around the course they build themselves.
Tapping into their creativity, the activity set includes 16 plastic maze tiles in a spacey blue color, as well as magnetic space rocks and other obstacles to place along the way. Kids can design their own course to make a path full of rough terrain for the rover to conquer, or they can use one of the 20 coding cards and mission handbook to re-create a pre-made maze. The pieces are easy to connect, disconnect, and rearrange, so the coding possibilities are endless.
The set also includes a little astronaut figure, which means kids can not only learn key STEM concepts while they play, but they can also engage in some imaginative fun. Plus, there’s a second purple rover and astronaut sold separately to make the challenge even better.
Learning Resources is well known for its quality educational toys, and this new set fits right in with its toy siblings. I love that it’s creative, engaging, educational, and completely screen-free. It also encourages an interest in space exploration and engineering.
Your little ones are just a few button pushes away from launching into learning fun with the Space Rover Deluxe Coding Activity Set.
