SpongeBob Burgermobile Showdown

Are you ready, kids? Aye-aye Captain! The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water is here, and so are the toys.

With the Burgermobile Showdown play set from Mega Bloks, kids can battle, bomb, and blast their way to fun with Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob SquarePants himself.

Based on the full-length feature film The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, this 258-piece building set includes Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob action figures with movable, detachable parts. Their mode of transportation? Let’s just say it has all the bells and whistles. Dubbed the “Burgermobile,” this forceful (yet delectable) battle-ready boat on wheels transforms into a food truckready to cook up “Beard Burgers” and fire away ice cream cones at a moments notice.

The included instruction set simplifies the building process for kids, clearly laying out each step and all of the pieces kids will need. Designed for kids ages 5 and up, the set certainly has its fair share of small parts, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t run into a couple minor speed bumps along the way. Kids on the younger end of the spectrum may need a helping hand for some of the trickier parts. Ultimately, after about an hour of assembling, I realized the set is as enjoyable to build as it is to play with afterward.

Equipped with six blasters at the ship’s bow, kids can imagine they are thwarting off enemy attacks from a nearby bubble launcher, a four-piece catapult-like mechanism that can send tiny Mega Bloks soaringjust make sure all kids involved remember to watch their eyes. There’s even a tiny plank at the stern of the boat, in case kids need to send off any wrongdoers.

The Burgermobile Showdown play set is solid and sturdy when it’s fully built, but keep in mind that there are a few outer attachments that may fall off during play. Regardless, kids will find this wacky product entertaining the whole way through, leaving enemies left to scream: “tartar sauce!”
