WHAT IT IS
Super Mario Party Jamboree is Nintendo‘s newest installment to the Super Mario game franchise for its Nintendo Switch family of consoles. The game adds five new gameboards and more than 110 minigames for kids to play. In classic Mario Party gameboard play, players race around the board to win stars, collect coins, compete in minigames, and more to become the Superstar.
There are also options like Minigame Bay — which allows kids to compete in minigame challenges — and Koopathlon mode — in which up to 20 players can go head-to-head in online play (you can also play this solo versus computer players). It also includes new gameplay features like the Jamboree Buddies, which are other characters that serve as your ally for a few turns on the gameboard to help you boost your star collection.
WHY WE LOVE IT
There are SO many exciting ways to play — even for those who have been fans of Mario Party for a long time. With five of the seven gameboards being brand-new and featuring fun twists and turns; a variety of minigames, and different modes of play, this game offers tons of family fun. It’s perfectly fine to play on your own solo, but also great to play with local or online friends. The gameplay is easy enough that adults or younger siblings who may not be great at video gaming can still join in with their favorite gamer kids. You can also decide how many turns (and length of time) each gameboard round will be.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
If you don’t have a Switch console with Joy-Cons — such as the Switch Lite — there is an option to turn off the motion-powered minigames and still have plenty of fun. But if you have access to the Joy-Cons, the game provides active play options!
