Team Genius Squad is a toy brand created by 11-year-old Ava Simmons, also known as the STEM Princess. The black-owned and founded business specializes in STEM experiment kits and activities, clothing, STEM-themed jewelry and lip gloss, lab coats, and in-person STEM experiences with the STEM Princess herself.

Three different kits are coming to Whole Foods grocery stores: You and your aspiring scientist can find the Lemon Light Electricity STEM Experiment Kit, the Solar Electricity STEM Experiment Kit, and the Wind Power STEM Experiment Kit on your next shopping trip.

Each kit includes supplies, kid-friendly instructions with photos, and a Certified Genius badge. In the Solar Electricity STEM Experiment Kit, kids will use a plastic fan, a motor and plastic cover, a plastic stand, and a solar plate to create a fan powered by the sun.

The Lemon Electricity STEM Experiment Kit includes four alligator clips, three copper pieces, three zinc pieces, a light connector wire, two light bulbs, and a clock. Young scientists can use the kit to find out how lemons can make electricity.

The last product that will be available at Whole Foods, the Wind Power Electricity STEM Experiment Kit, includes a plastic fan, a copper coil with wires, a wooden stand, a light bulb wire, and two light bulbs. Young Whole Food shoppers will learn how to make electricity using wind during the experiment.

There are also videos to company some of kits. After you return home from Whole Foods, visit the Team Genius YouTube channel to find the accompanying video. Each kit is for kids ages five and up

If you don’t want to wait until the summer to start experimenting, you can find the products online at shop.teamgeniussquad.com. The proceeds from your Whole Foods or online purchase will fund global STEM awareness, as well as Ava’s dyslexia learning journey!
