Dear Great Pumpkin, we’re looking forward to your arrival on Halloween night.
Pumpkin season is officially in session and there’s no better way to celebrate than with a new, animated video for “The Great Pumpkin Waltz.” You may recognize the Vince Guaraldi song from the 1966 animated TV special It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. It just so happens that today also marks the 70th anniversary of Peanuts, Charles Shulz’s comic strip that made Charlie Brown and Snoopy famous.
Craft Recordings also launched a “Peanuts 70th Anniversary Playlist” across music streaming services today, featuring 70 songs from Peanuts TV specials and compilations. As part of the anniversary celebration, Craft Recordings is also releasing a one-time vinyl pressing of A Charlie Brown Christmas with a special dancing lenticular print of the original 1965 album cover with Schulz’s famous illustration. The soundtrack album will lead families into the holiday season with music from the 1965 TV special A Charlie Brown Christmas.
