Vital Hero is here to change the way kids get active.
This summer, Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America will launch Vital Hero, a gamified, wearable band with a digital monster living in it. The first wave of bands have one unique digital monster per band, with an extensive roster of monsters that kids can collect to extend play.
The bands feature a full-color, LED display screen and built-in vital activity monitors that prompt kids to complete daily activities through physical missions such as shadow boxing, squatting, sprint challenges, walking a certain amount of steps, and more. Each activity and mission makes the digital monster evolve, makes it stronger, and prompts users into battles, combing gaming with active play.
Kids can transfer their character between their device and their friends’ devices for battles through a VS memory chip. The Vital Hero is also compatible with NFC (Near Field Connection) touch points such as tap-to-pay stations, ID card readers, and more for other uses and to activate random battles. In the future, Bandai will launch two apps that kids can use to battle in online PVP championships and to store their digital monsters collection.
Recommended for kids ages 8 and up, Vital Hero also functions as a watch with date and time, and an activity monitor that tracks steps and heartbeat. Presale begins today on Amazon for $64.99 with Vital Heros available in black and blue versions.
Kids can also purchase Digital Monster Dim Card Sets to collect and train even more digital monsters beyond the one included with the band. Dim Card Sets are available for presale at Amazon and Target for $19.99, with three set options featuring two characters in each. Those characters can evolve into more than 15 different types of forms.
